Frequently Asked Questions

General Leasing Questions

Can anyone live at Campus Village?

CU Denver Campus Village exclusively houses students attending CU Denver.

Can I request an apartment or roommates?

The chances of acquiring the apartment of the choice you desire is determined by the timing that your completed application and signed contract is received and executed.  Soonest always gets better results.

The power of choosing roommates is placed in the hands of those who value it most.  RoomSync is a roommate matching app on Facebook that will help with the selection of compatible roommates or assist with the arrangement of syncing up with the friends you choose to room with.

Can I use my financial aid?

After reviewing documentation pertaining to grants, loans and scholarships with parents and the financial aid office, you’ll have the best idea of where you stand. You can request and arrange that with your CU Denver financial aid officer.  Typically, tuition and fees will be paid first and then the remainder will cover housing costs.  Most loans that consider the expense of on-campus housing should cover Campus Village.

Do I have a meal plan?

In addition to selecting a room type, 1st Year students are required to select a meal plan.  There are  three meal plan dining options to choose from.

The Broncos Plan: 19 meals per week and includes $40 flex spending per month

The Nuggets Plan: 14 Meals per week and includes $60 flex spending per month

The Rockies Plan: 10 Meals per week and includes $80 flex spending per month

Flex spending funds can be used for the Cyber Café, I Pie Pizza or additional Cafeteria food or snacks.  All upper classman residents have the option to choose from any of the 5 meal plans featured in our CU Onsite Dining Hall Meal Plans, or opt out of the meal plan option. The weekly allotted all-you-care-to-eat meals must be used within the week or they will be forfeited. Although non-refundable and non-transferable, unused flex spending balances can be carried over from month to month through the term of the contract. Any unused credit balance at the end of the contract term will be forfeited.

How are roommates matched?

We have partnered with RoomSync to provide a modern matching platform where residents choose their own roommates. After you complete the leasing process you will be emailed a link to join our RoomSync network. You will then log in to RoomSync using Facebook, create a matching profile, and begin your search to find your new best friend - or roommate for starters. If you already have a roommate in mind, you can confirm your roommate request within RoomSync.

How are rooms assigned?

Residents who already have preferred roommates can confirm their roommate match requests using RoomSync, our roommate matching platform. If they do not already have a roommate, residents will search for and choose their own roommate using RoomSync. Residents will be able to communicate with each other during and after the selection process. In the event that potential roommates discover that they are no longer compatible, they can request a different roommate and we will do our best to accommodate a change request. To provide sufficient time and the greatest opportunity for residents to find the perfect roommate, applications should be submitted and contracts signed and executed as early as possible.

I haven't decided where I'm going to attend school. If I sign a contract now and then decide to go to a different school, can I get out of it?

Signing a contract to live at Campus Village is different from signing up for a dorm at another campus housing facility. The contract with Campus Village is legally binding and enforceable with terms and conditions.  Please refer to our contract buyout policy and terms.  You will have to submit a request to modify/terminate contract obligation form for review.

If I am over 21 do I need a guarantor?

Yes. All contracts are required to have a guarantor. If an approved guarantor cannot be obtained, EdR Management, Inc. will accept and honor a security deposit of 20% of your semester rate.

Is alcohol allowed on the property?
If you're 21 or older, you may consume alcohol in your apartment but not in common areas. No one under 21 may consume alcohol on the premises. We expect all residents to obey the law and, if there are violations, contracts may be terminated and the violations reported to the university or college.

Is parking available?

Campus Village provides a gated, onsite parking lot and an overflow parking lot. Parking is $425 per semester, which is a great deal! Most Auraria students pay much more for parking that's not available 24/7 nor security protected.

What do I need to hook up my computer to the internet

Wireless Internet is an essential amenity provided throughout the building, besides the ability to hook up through an Ethernet cable. Outside routers are prohibited.

What kind of food will be served in the cafe?

Campus Village Dining provides food that appeals to a variety of tastes and nutritional needs.  See our dining partner's website at: http://www.campusvillagedining.com

What size are the beds? Can additional furniture be brought into the apartment?

The beds are extra-long twin size in the 2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, Double Occupancy apartments/suites. All other apartments/suites have an 80 inch full/double sized bed. Additional furniture can be brought in. The furniture included in the apartment must stay in the apartment as we have no place to store excess furniture.

When do I put down a deposit?

A deposit is not required. You must pay an application fee of $25 (non-refundable), community activities fee of $25 (non-refundable) and a service fee of $250 (non-refundable) at the time the application is completed and submitted. $100 can be applied toward the 1st installment if the contract is signed and executed.

Will Campus Village check my enrollment status at Auraria Campus?

Yes, Campus Village must validate enrollment status of all students wishing to renew and sign a new contract agreement.
